About Digital Painting
and high quality giclée prints on special art paper
I always carry a small notebook and ink pens for quick sketches. If a doodle resonates with me, I might develop it further using paints, or on my iPad.
When time allows, I work on larger paper, mixing media like watercolour, watercolour pencils, gouache, acrylics, and ink. While I also use canvas for acrylics. In the studio, alongside painting on paper and canvas, I also enjoy digital painting on my iPad using Procreate. To me, it feels much like traditional painting, but on a digital canvas. I discovered this technique over a decade ago and immediately loved it. Inspired by the works of artists like David Hockney, who elevated digital painting. Digital painting begins with a process that to me feels as real as traditional painting, only on a digital platform like an iPad. It results in a final original digital image.
From these I produce high-end art prints.
These prints are distinct works, not mere copies, I create them as limited editions of 8 or 25 across all sizes. Each print is individually signed, numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Produced by a professional printing house using giclée techniques on specialty art paper, these prints offer superior colour accuracy, capturing shadows and highlights better than standard methods like offset lithography or inkjet printing.
Giclée printing uses pigments, not dyes, ensuring long-lasting colour true to the original. This method is ideal for archival fine art, photography, and digital art repro- ductions, with prints lasting over 100 years without noticeable fading.
